Adult Residential Care Home (ARCH) Modules

HC2200 • Tuition: $750 • Course Hrs: 45 (3 semester hr equivalent)

The training prepares operators to provide residential care of individuals in the home. The program consists of three courses as listed below. The Department of Health has additional structural and service requirements for operating an ARCH home. Participants learn about diseases, preparation of special diets, following through with existing therapies, and behavior management. They also learn simple accounting as well as rules and regulations established by the Department of Health. This program also ensures participants complete the entire training program in a single track of courses that include ARCH Module 12, ARCH Module 13 and ARCH Module 14.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

The following modules include the instructional topics for the training listed above. Individual modules cannot be taken separately, except for ARCH Module 14.


ARCH Module 12

Prepares the adult residential care home operator to observe the resident for signs and symptoms of common diseases, make medications available, and prepare for special diets.

ARCH Module 13

Prepares the adult residential care home operator to assist in the provision of occupational, physical, recreational, and diversional therapy. Identifies the operator's role in fostering mental health and care of the mentally ill and mentally retarded.

ARCH Module 14

Prepare the adult residential care home operator to implement specified regulations of Chapter 11-100.1*, prepare simple accounting records, and identify community resources available to resident operators.
